Issei Sagawa best known for the murder and cannabilism of his class mate a dutch woman by the name of Renee Hartevelt and was set free after being labeled insane and unable to stand trial. In an interview Sagawa was asked about the first time he experienced his cannibalistic urges to which he said “it was in first grade of elementary school when I saw the quivering meat on a male classmate’s thighs and I suddenly thought, “mmm that looks delicious.” He proceeded to explain that the thought had nothing to do with his sexual preference but rather how they differed from his own legs which he described as ‘skinny and look like pencils.’

Jeffrey Dahmer best known for his killings, cannibalism and necrophilia with 17 male victims between 1978 and 1991. This quote was made by Dahmer is a home video where he is recorded talking about his eating habits.

Ted Bundy is one of the most infamous serial killers, killing more than 30 women between 1974 and 1978 in more than 7 states. Bundy would use his charm to to approach women in public before he would kidnap, rape and murder them. He would use tactics such as faking an injury or disability and sometimes faking an authority figure to come across less threatening to those he targeted.

Jim Jones was the leader and founder of Peoples Temple, a church-like social movement. On November 18, 1978, Jim Jones and more than 900 members of the People’s Temple committed mass suicide in the jungle of Guyana.

Albert Fish was an american serial killer, child rapist and cannibal of the early 1900s. He was also known as the Gray Man, The Werewolf of Wysteria, the Brooklyn Vampire, the Moon Maniac and the Boogeyman. Fish had boasted at one point that he ‘had children in every state’, but his victim list is unknown. He was put on trial in 1934 for the murder and kidnapping of Grace Budd. Fish had sent an anonymous letter to Grace Budd’s parents which was what led the police to him and ultimately his arrest. The letter consisted of the murder of Grace including the kidnapping and events that occurred after. However it was impossible to confirm whether or not Fish had actually eaten parts of Grace’s body.

Richard Ramirez aka the Night Stalker was found in court documents and was about his love for killing. Ramirez is a Mexican American serial killer who is awaiting execution of California’s Death row. Ramirez murder spree was between the 1984 and 1985 and was convicted of 13 murders, 5 attempted murders, 11 sexual assaults and 14 burglaries.
7. “I believe the only way to reform people is to kill ‘em”
Carl Panzram was arrested for burglary in 1928 when he confessed to killing 3 young boys and received a 25 to life sentence. He was then sentenced to death row for beating someone and killing them while incarcerated at Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary. Panzram wrote “a chronicle of his life work” while awaing his execution where he admitted to killing 21 people and committed thousands of burglaries, robberies, arsons and acts of sodomy in the US. He was executed by hanging on September 5, 1930.

Serial Killer Peter Kurten aka ‘The Vampire of Dusseldorf” was said to have asked this statement to the prison psychiatrist. Kurten was executed in 1931 by guillotine after being convicted of 9 murders (women and children). He confessed his crimes only after convincing his wife to turn him in so she could have the reward money for his capture.
5. “She was giving me oral sex, and got carried away….so I choked her”
Arthur Shawcross also known as the Genesse River Killer is an American Serial killer who had been in prisoned for murder and relased during his lifetime. Most of his victims had been after he was released from prison on parole for a charge of murdering a child. Shawcross had enlisted in the army at age 19 and later confessed to the murder and cannibalization of two young Vietnamese girls. In May 1972 he murder a 10 year old boy and four months after raped and murdered an 8 year old girl. He was released from prison after 15 years and started killing again in 1988 where he claimed 11 more victims in 2 years before he was arrested again.

Gertrude Bainsewski was best known for the torture and murder of 16 year old Sylvia Likens. Bainsewski was the mother of 7 children and was struggling financially, with mental health and substance use. She offered to care for Sylvia and her younger sister Jenny while their parents traveled the circus with the promise of $20 dollar a week pay. This quote was stated after the first payment was late and Bainsewski proceeded to ‘punish’ Likens and her sister by ‘beating their buttock’. Bainsewski proceeded to physically, emotionally and mentally abuse Likens and would kick her in the crotch. Bainsewski had encouraged her children to partake in the punishment insisting that Likens needed to be taught a lesson. Many of the neighborhood kids knew and often were involved with the torture of Likens and encouraged by Bainsewski.
3. “That is my ambition, to have killed more people-more helpless people-than any man or woman who has ever lived.”
Jane Toppan was a 26 year old nurse who would give lethal injections of morphine to 31 hospital patients. From Boston Massachusetts these murders occurred between 1887-1901. She was said to have 70 more victims, but that is unclear. She was found not guilty by reason of insanity after stating this quote, but sentenced to Taunton Insane Hospital for life. She lived in the hospital an additional 40 years before she died.

Edmund Kemper is known for 10 killings in the years 1964, 1972 and 1973. His victims included six female hitchhikers, his mother’s friend, his mother and his grandparents. This quote was during a conversation between Kemper and his mother after he called her to say what he had done. Kemper shot his Grandmother as she sat at the kitchen table working on her most recent children’s book. He was sentenced to live in prison in November 1973.

It was not until Rader sent a letter to the police taking responsibility for a murder that he had not originally been a suspect of. Rader is known as the B.T.K killer for it stands for “Blind, Torture, Kill” which was his method towards commiting these crimes.
